Lithuanian Prison Service Team Among the Best in International K9 Competition in Estonia
From 22–24 September 2025, the Estonian Prison Service hosted an international K9 drug search competition at the Jõulumäe Sports and Recreation Center in Pärnumaa, Estonia. The event brought together nine teams representing the Estonian Prison Service, police, customs, special forces, as well as the Latvian and Lithuanian prison services.
Each team consisted of two officers and their service dogs, competing in three main disciplines: luggage search, vehicle search, and premises search. Participants also demonstrated their dogs’ obedience, discipline, and control skills under challenging and realistic conditions.
The Lithuanian Prison Service was represented by:
- Kotryna Misiūnaitė, Security Management Unit, Pravieniškės Prison No. 1, with service dog Silver Shadow Black’n Gold Thunder, and
- Kristina Nazarova, Security Management Unit, Pravieniškės Prison No. 2, with service dog Aina Viską griaunanti.
The Lithuanian team delivered an impressive performance, securing an honourable third place overall in the competition! In addition, Congratulations to Kristina Nazarova and her service dog Aina Viską griaunanti who achieved second place in the vehicle search category.
The Lithuanian Prison Service extends its sincere congratulations to both officers and their canine partners for their outstanding results and professionalism, as well as their ability to perform at the international level.
