Interreg Cooperation Day 2026: Meeting of Lithuanian and Polish Partners in Augustów

On 5 September, Interreg Cooperation Day 2026 took place in Augustów, bringing together project partners from Lithuania and Poland participating in the Interreg VI-A Lithuania–Poland Programme, as well as representatives of other institutions. The event aimed to increase awareness of the Interreg VI-A Lithuania–Poland Programme and the projects it supports, while also providing an opportunity for cross-border cooperation partners to meet, exchange experiences, and discuss future cooperation opportunities.

A cruise through the waterways of Augustów, team-building activities, meaningful conversations, new acquaintances, and the sharing of experiences all served as a reminder that successful cross-border cooperation begins not with documents, but with people, mutual trust, and shared ideas.

Such meetings provide a valuable opportunity not only to strengthen relationships with existing partners, but also to generate new ideas and identify possibilities for future cooperation.

The Lithuanian Prison Service, in cooperation with the Lithuanian Probation Service and the Regional Prison Inspectorate in Olsztyn, is implementing project LTPL00388 under the Interreg VI-A Lithuania–Poland Programme, entitled “Networking towards Successful Resocialisation of Convicts and Uniting Society for Common Trust.”

At this year’s Interreg Cooperation Day 2026 event, the project was represented by a representative from the Planning and Projects Unit of the Lithuanian Prison Service and a representative of the Regional Prison Inspectorate in Olsztyn.
