Lithuanian Prison Service Officers Participate in International Shooting Competition in Poland
Officers of the Lithuanian Prison Service took part in the 17th International Shooting Competition of the Uniformed Services Łupkowskie Strzelby 2026, held on 11–12 June 2026 at the Nowy Łupków shooting range in Poland. The event brought together law enforcement professionals from across Europe, providing an opportunity to demonstrate operational skills, exchange professional experience, and strengthen international cooperation.
The Lithuanian Prison Service was represented by a four-member team consisting of Linas Nanartavičius, Mindaugas Vaškevičius, Valerijus Eidukaitis, and Vilius Soraka.
Over the course of the two-day competition, the Lithuanian team competed alongside 33 teams representing law enforcement agencies from Poland, Ukraine, Romania, and the Czech Republic. The demanding programme tested participants' marksmanship, tactical proficiency, physical endurance, and decision-making abilities under pressure.
Competitors demonstrated their skills in centrefire pistol, smoothbore shotgun, and automatic rifle shooting, as well as in a tactical grenade-imitation throwing event. Each discipline required a high level of weapons handling, accuracy, concentration, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic operational scenarios.
Beyond the sporting challenge, Łupkowskie Strzelby 2026 served as an important platform for professional dialogue and international cooperation. The event enabled representatives of the Lithuanian Prison Service to exchange best practices with colleagues from other European correctional and law enforcement institutions, present developments within Lithuania's correctional system, and strengthen professional networks.
