Distinguished Guests from Norway visit Vilnius Prison
On 11 November, the Lithuanian Prison Service was pleased to welcome Atle Konta Midttun, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Lithuania, and diplomat Laila Ranheim Sakizcicegi during their visit to Vilnius Prison.
The meeting offered a valuable opportunity to look back at the projects successfully implemented with support from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and to discuss areas for continued cooperation.
Support and knowledge exchange from our Norwegian partners continue to play an important role in the modernisation of Lithuania’s correctional system. Their contributions help improve working conditions for prison officers, expand reintegration opportunities for inmates, and foster a safer, more open, and human-rights-respecting environment across our facilities.
We sincerely thank our Norwegian partners for their steady support and joint efforts in strengthening cooperation between Lithuanian and Norwegian institutions.
