Cadets from Competence Development Centre Gain Valuable Insights from Norwegian prisons
Cadets from the Lithuanian Prison Service Competence Development Centre recently had the opportunity to visit Norwegian prisons in Bodo and Tromsø, where they gained firsthand experience of the best practices employed by their Norwegian counterparts.
During the visit, the cadets were introduced to key aspects of the Norwegian correctional system, including the principles of dynamic security, structured daily schedules, and activities designed for inmate rehabilitation. They also learned about the unique approaches to communication between officers and prisoners, aimed at fostering a safer and more constructive correctional environment.
Over the course of two weeks, the cadets closely observed the work of Norwegian prison officers, engaged in discussions about real-world challenges, and explored various problem-solving strategies. Through these interactions, they acquired invaluable knowledge that will enhance the quality of correctional work in Lithuania.
